Finding your way
- The menu at the top leads to every part of the portal. On a phone, open it with the Menu button.
- Choose your language with the selector at the top of the page or in the list at its foot. The portal remembers it.
- The Sitemap lists all the pages.
For students
The step-by-step guide for students, participating institutions and Nodal Officers is on How to take part.
- Your institution must be a participating institution. Between 22 Oct 2026 and 21 Nov 2026 it assesses its interested students, with the portal's online test (your Institutional Coordinator gives you its link and access code) or in another suitable mode, and selects one student on merit.
- The selected student receives a personal registration link by e-mail and registers on or before 22 Nov 2026, with a photograph, an ID proof, the nomination form signed and sealed by the Head of the Institution, and the details of the Faculty Supervisor/Guide. The application number comes by e-mail.
- Follow your application on Application status with your application number, your date of birth and the last four digits of your mobile number. The same details sign you in to the candidate portal.
- The Nodal Officer of your State/UT verifies your application, and CICT announces the selected students by e-mail and on this portal. Selected students give their bank details for the stipend (see the guide) and submit their research paper in the candidate portal.
For participating institutions
- Register your institution by 22 Nov 2026, or complete the registration from the invitation e-mail of your Nodal Institution.
- Sign in to the institution's page with the e-mail address of the Institutional Coordinator or of the Head of the Institution: a six-digit code is mailed to you.
- Assess your students by 21 Nov 2026, select one on merit, and make sure the student registers by 22 Nov 2026. The guide for institutions can be printed.
Documents and videos
- Documents in PDF open in the browser. You can also use a free PDF reader, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader.
- Videos open on YouTube, where captions can be switched on with the CC button when the video has them.
Screen readers
The portal can be used with screen readers, for example NVDA (free, for Windows), JAWS, Windows Narrator, VoiceOver on Apple devices and TalkBack on Android phones.
Browsers
Use a current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari, with JavaScript switched on: the online test and the classroom quiz need it. For the test, use a steady internet connection and keep the window open until you have submitted.
